How to Read this Blog

YOU DON'T KNOW IT 'TILL YOU KNOW IT.

A match is not a fire and a theory is not knowledge.

The ideas presented herein were mostly derived without extensive prior literature search and are therefore unlikely to be original, but they may be. This way, preconceptions are avoided and the searches can always be done in the future.

This blog is written at the non-specialist scientist level with occasional lapses into the vernacular. The "progress" alluded to in the title is of a scientific and professional-developmental nature but is light on new data. This progress is also of a "spiritual" nature, by a naturalistic definition, that is, escaping self-defeating emotional programming, and the inspiration was Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, the first novel of the English language.

If an earlier statement of mine contradicts a later statement, go with the later statement. This is because my thinking, and therefore my statements, evolve over time.

New, relevant ideas are added as distinct dated postscripts. Short postscripts are inserted in-line between unequal-signs, like this: <05-31-2020: Sedimentary, my dear Rockson.> If I commit a howler, like Darwin's bear, here it stays, to indicate something of the nonlinear nature of the creative process and to encourage beginning theoreticians by letting them see how bad I sucked at the beginning. Thus, material that is deprecated as of Nov 8, 2021 is not censored but is moved to the "Deprecated" page where it can be seen in all its awfulness by clicking a link.

All dates are American style (month, day, year).

The physics posts are all protoscience and written from a conviction that contemporary physics is stalled and a fundamental rethink is in order.

This blog may be an elaborate attempt to process the events of my own life.

None of the contents is recommended as a philosophy of life.

If I offend you, it may be because I have said too little, not too much.

Since I am a professional editor, you are theoretically in good hands concerning the reader experience. However, the formatting and link quality may be uneven, because obsessively making everything perfect is very time consuming, and this time is better spent devising creative new ideas to benefit Humanity.
